County legislature approves funding for aerial spraying

Preventive measures include disposing of outdoor tin cans, plastic containers, or similar outdoor items that collect water; removal of tires; drilling of holes in the bottom of recycling containers kept outside; cleaning of clogged rain gutters; changing of water in bird baths every four days, and draining water from pool covers. The Oswego County Legislature has approved spending $48,500 for the purpose of aerial spraying in the Toad Harbor area in an ongoing effort to eliminate disease-carrying mosquitoes.
